Position Overview – Video Editing Mentor at SkillShikshya

SkillShikshya is seeking knowledgeable and passionate mentors in Video Editing to guide and empower aspiring creators as they develop the skills required to thrive in today’s fast-evolving world.

As a mentor, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping learners build a strong foundation in storytelling, editing techniques, motion graphics, color grading, sound design, and post-production workflows. Through structured learning paths, you’ll provide personalized feedback, share industry best practices, and support learners in applying their knowledge to real-world editing projects and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group mentorship to learners enrolled in SkillShikshya’s Video Editing courses.

• Offer guidance on editing career paths, certifications, portfolio building, and industry best practices.

• Support learners by addressing practical and technical queries related to editing workflows and creative techniques.

• Review student projects, give constructive feedback, and track progress.

• Conduct Q&A sessions, live doubt-clearing, and editing-focused webinars when needed.

• Collaborate with curriculum designers to ensure content stays aligned with the latest editing trends and industry standards.

Requirements

• Preferred 3+ years of hands-on experience in Video Editing.

• Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and other editing tools.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to break down complex editing concepts clearly and patiently.

• A genuine passion for teaching, creativity, and helping others succeed.

• Bonus: Prior experience in mentoring, coaching, or training (formal or informal).
